Do you have a talk tomorrow?
I won’t be able to help you that fast, but I think you can use these 5 tips.
Think about your audience.
Do they know you, do they know what you are going to talk about? Think about it and don’t forget to use the simplest language possible. To give you an idea, if there’s a 12-year-old in the room, he or she should understand you.
Think about yourself.
How do you feel about the topic you’re going to talk about?
Are you excited about it? Are you angry about it? Are you sad about it? Feel what you are going to try to convey and go with it.
Prepare it.
What research do you need to do to illustrate your content? Having that under control will give you peace of mind.
Be clear on the Idea.
What is the clear idea you want to share? Why? What do you want people to feel or do? Ask yourself these questions.
Empathize.
Why will people listen to you? What will they get out of it?
What you say is key, but how you say it is equally important.
And it doesn’t matter if it’s for a few people or a large conference. Many of the things you need to know to really get the most out of your presentations are the same.
