The power of a routine for public speaking

On the 26th of July,
the 2024 edition of the Olympic Games will start in Paris,
with what is expected to be an impressive opening ceremony along the Seine River.

(An interesting fact:
for the last 100 years, it was banned to swim in the Seine River, but not anymore. Starting in 2025,
you will be allowed to swim in the Seine River in some designated areas.)

For the last 4 years,
athletes from all around the world have been training day in and day out,
hoping to be the next Michael Phelps (probably the best athlete in history).

What made Michael so special was not just his talent (that’s out of the question),
but his race-day routine.

He always did the same thing.

For breakfast: eggs, oatmeal, and four energy shakes.

At the pool:

  • 600 kick to get his legs warm.
  • 400 pull.
  • 200 drill.
  • And then a series of 25s at race pace to wake up his nervous system.

Out of the pool: Jay Z and Lil Wayne on his headphones.

No matter if he was racing in Beijing, London, or Athens,
he always did the same.

As Charles Duhigg explains in his book The Power of Habit,
there is no success without strong habits behind it

The same goes for delivering a speech.

I have my own speech-day routine for presentations,
and I will be sharing it on the 24th of August at 18:00 CET
(a 2-hour online class for 10 people).

In this class, I will explain in detail my speech-day routine:
✓ the meditation I use,
✓ the standing breathing exercises,
✓ and what I do exactly 15 minutes before the speech.

On top of this,
you will learn how to get creative ideas without reading 52 books a year,
and how to evaluate your speech in just one click.

All this on the 24th of August at 18:00 CET,
for 2 hours, online, and for a reduced group of 10 people.

By the way,
this is the routine how his routine was helping Michael to win medals,
he is explaining it here.
